Last week, in the wake of the Boston Marathon bombings, I came up with this type screen print to raise money for One Fund Boston, benefitting victims and families of those affected. This attack happened just a few blocks away on my street and had me pretty well shaken up. Thankfully the suspects have been apprehended, but the city will likely feel a bit different for some time after. “Wicked sick,” is Bostonian slang for “awesome,” for those who are unsure what this has to do with anything. The red and navy blue were inspired by the Red Sox, who play just a mile west of the blast sites. This city has meant a lot to me and in the time I’ve lived here made me proud to call it home.
Each print is hand numbered out of 50 and signed. They cost $15 and will ship the week of May 8th. You can get one at http://adamxvass.bigcartel.com.
Now, to help spread the word on this print, I’m holding a contest.
A coupon code for $25 to my store that you can use on prints, zines, shirts, or whatever you want is up for grabs. All you have to do is Reblog this post in full. A random reblogger will be chosen the first week of May and contacted with the prize. Lets get this poster out to as many people as possible and hopefully we can raise some money for my city. Thanks.
This hit particularly close to home for us. My roommate made some prints to sell with all proceeds going to the One Fund. Pick one up if you’ve got a few extra bucks to go to the Bombing victims’ treatment.
